project one: re (animation)

Re (animation) was a project i undertook at university as part of a experimental bookmaking module. The aim of the brief was to alter the format of a book, i.e to experiment with the "concept" of pages. Why does a book have to be forever defined as the format that we all recognise.

I chose to reinterpret the text of the book (Blindness by Jose Saramago), "reanimating" into an experimental collage of what the words were describing; If that wasn't complicated enough i also altered the format into a concertina, but not the kind of concertina you might be used to.

The images are preliminary sketchbook pages and photographs of the final product.

Hopefully and soon enough this will be a frequent feature on the blog.
